Matching Dresser Set

What a fun project 🎉!! Can you even recognize them in the Before & After photos 🤯?!? These will be for sale soon (details to come soon!)!!

This is the FIRST set of matching dressers I have redone and I wanted to go BIG with it. I really wanted to mix the farmhouse and industrial styles all into one! I love the look of the small drawers in apothecary cabinets but they just aren’t that functional. These are full size drawers that have been cut to give the same look.

🎨 The paint color is General Finishes Reverent Gray and the stain color is a custom mix of GF Nutmeg and Antique Walnut gel stains.

I also did a cool effect on the faux library to help Antique the look of the drawers using Briwax – TRG Products. You can see the video:

Who’s looking for some new dressers for their bedroom!?!?

  1. My husband and I just replaced an old bookcase headboard with a black metal framed bed.
We kept the mirrored dresser and chest that matched the old bookcase bed, but want to upgrade those two pieces … Similar to what you show in the matching pieces you shown, with the stained upper and painted lower on the two pieces.
How do I go about getting the type of paint in a gray shade, only darker?
Do you have a tutorial to assist in tackling such a job? We have refinished wood furniture, but never anything like what we’re seeing here. It is absolutely gorgeous.
P.S. We don’t plan to tackle the project until fall/winter.
    Many thanks

    1. Hey Sharon,

I am so glad you like the pieces! You can checkout the paints and furniture prepping favorites of mine on my amazon store front:

I use general finishes paint and think a darker grey like Driftwood or Queenstown would be what you are looking for!
